Shri Krishna explains about SOUL to Arjuna…

To help Arjuna understand and align with focus on the SOUL, He explains SOUL using few terms as listed below. (These are found from 2.17 to 2.25)

Soul is unborn and ever present.

Soul is अजः unborn and शाश्वतः changeless and present since beginning, so it is said to be नित्यः eternal and सनातनः ancient / eternally present and hence सर्वगतः allpervading and स्थाणुः stable.

Soul is immutable and undestructible

Soul is said to be अचलः immutable / unchanging and अविकार्यः non degenerative- because it is अच्छेद्यः cannot be cut, अदाह्यः cannot be burnt, अक्लेद्य cannot be wetted and अशोष्य cannot be dried….so, In true sense, it is said to be अविनाशिनम् indestructible and अव्ययम् inexhaustible.

Soul is inexplicable

Finally, it is अचिन्त्यः unthinkable / beyond comprehension as it remains subtle as if अव्यक्तः unmanifested / difficult to express explicitly.

Looking at inexplicable nature of soul, we can only reproduce the words as spoken by Shri Krishna.. (that too partially and imperfectly , as few words cant be translated in english exactly )

What is interesting is, how can we explore and experience intangible, as we are very rigidly programmed to understand only tangible as real…

For now, just this much..later will write about Gnan Yog…
