First chapter (Adhyay) is like starting point for all of us, we keep experiencing what Arjun experienced…

1. Fear of fight with all its physical / psychological symptoms.

2. Huge gap between intellectually knowing ( that he has to fight ) versus actually experiencing (the fight, by being on the battle field ).

3. Attempting escaping route from doing what needs to be done.

4. Using moral / philosophical high ground to hide confusion and fear of confrontation.

5. Projecting emotions ( and hiding behind it ) to project better self image of being better than others.

6. Believing in unverified ‘ hear-say’ kind of concepts to justify and stick to one’s own wrong stance instead on correcting it.

7. Presenting  ‘unverified/ unexperienced’ concepts as ‘Truth’ and rigidly sticking to it without courage to check it out / verify or humbleness to seek corrections.

8. Informing instead of asking. ( In 2nd chapter he does “asks”, but we are summarizing 1st chapter 😀 )

9. Lopsided self suiting so called ‘ attachment and kindness ‘ projected as generic holistic compassion. ( Arjuna was bothered about his relatives getting killed, what about thousands of others who would be killed for no reason ? )

And finally..

10. Not accepting delusion / confusion  and self certifying one’s own stance to be right. (again limited to arjuna’s expression in 1st chapter)

Though most of points he starts working on himself by being open to be corrected and guided, when in 2nd chapter he accepts Krishna’s position as teacher , but for the sake of understanding 1st chapter, I feel above 10 points are something we all have / experience…I don’t know about others…but I do.

But in our lives,  we never go to “the second chapter”…

we are happy proving our wrong thing as right and proving that our delusion is much more real than the light of the clarity…we say guidance is never available in today’s materialistic world..

Summary of learning is, we will find guidance in proportion of we becoming open for and work on our own ability to receive…

2nd chapter in our lives awaits…
